Antony not to contest LS polls

Alappuzha, Kerala: Defence Minister A.K. Antony Monday said he would not contest the coming Parliament elections. He was responding to reports he may contest to Lok Sabha from a constituency in Kerala, while speaking to reporters at his home town, Cherthala.

In the coming elections, youth will get preference, he said adding he was not the final authority in election process as High Command was playing the primary role.

Antony said the Congress was ready to give ears to the demands of youth. However, he refused to respond about SNC Lavlin issue.

The Defence Minister also refused to respond on omission of K. Karunakaran from the list of Rajya Sabha nominees.
