Sufiya denied bail, arrest imminent

Kollam : The Kerala High Court Thursday rejected the bail plea of of Sufiya Madhani, who is accused in the Kalamassery bus burning case.

High Court, which began its hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of Sufiya Madhani on Thursday morning, gave its verdict in the evening.

In the wake of the court verdict, the arrest of Sufiya madhani, wife of PDP chairman Abdul Nasar Madhani, is imminent.

Thoughthe police are making elaborate preparations for the arrest, it is learnt that Sufiya, along with her close aides, had left her residence in the morning to Kochi. The police say that depending on the court verdict she will be arrested from wherever she is.

The Kerala Police had last week named Sufiya as the 10th accused and a notice was sent to her to appear before the police, but she failed to do so and filed for anticipatory bail.

Last week, the court posted the case for Monday, which deferred hearing of her anticipatory bail till Thursday.
