Kerala government would look into demands for changing the official spelling of the state to 'Keralam' to make it conform to the way it is pronounced in Malayalam, Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan told the state Assembly on Wednesday. He, however, said a decision on the matter would be taken only after evloving a consensus through discussions with experts.
Responding to Babu M Palissery (CPI-M), who raised the issue as a submission, he said there had been demands from various quarters to change the official spelling of the state to 'Keralam', as it is written and pronounced in Malayalam.
They had reinforced their argument by citing instances like changing the name of 'Bombay' into 'Mumbai.'
There was a committee headed by the Revenue Minister to consider the issue of changing the names of places so as to make them conform to the way they were spelt or pronounced in Malayalam. The usual practice was that before finalising the change, it would be discussed with experts and others concerned.
In his submission, Palissery pointed out that colonial spelling of places like 'Trichur' had already been changed to 'Thrissur' and 'Calicut' to 'Kozhikode. So there was no justification in delaying correcting the official spelling of the state itself into 'Keralam', which means 'land of Keras' (coconut trees).
Chie Minister VS Achuthanandan told the kerala Assembly on wednesday that the state govt would consider whether the name of our state could be changed to KERALAM.

What about KERALAM?It holds the occult number 18.This is a dangerous occult number.The names KASHMIR,MUMBAI,SRI LANKA,MYANMAR,ANDHRA and ULFA etc carry occult number 18.
ADVANI could not become PM only because his occult number is 18.He once invited the wrath of the Sangh Parivar for having praised JINNAH.But the Sangh Parivar does not know that Jinnah also holds the occult number 18 and that there are harmonious vibrations between the names-ADVANI AND JINNAH!
PAWAR also could not become PM.Because,his occult number is 18.MORARJI with occult number 18 could become PM only because the name was followed by a DESAI.
Inspite of all the above,there are two exceptions-SPAIN and PAUL.Both name bear occult number 18.
Still,after carefully and deeply analysing the subject I am of the humble opinion that a name carrying occult number 18 is not acceptable.
"KERALA" is far better than "KERALAM"
If the govt finally changes the name that will also be numerologically influenced!On Nov1,2010 our state will turn 54(5+4=9).Number 18 adds up to 9.Besides,occult number of VS is 9.More than all,the occult number of PINARAYI VIJAYAN is 36(2 times 18)that adds up to 9.
