Kochi: One more person has been arrested in connection with the chopping of the palm of Newman College Prof; T.J.Joseph. The arrested man has been identified as division secretary of the Popular Front of India (PFI) Abdul Salam.
Police claimed that Abdul Salam had provided a vehcile for men involved the attack against Joseph to escape. He has also role in the alleged conspiracy behind the incident.
The police have also served a notice on PFI asking the organisation to stop alleged armed training of the Freedom Parade.
Prof.T.J.Joseph whose arm was chopped off and his sister had Monday identified the four men allegedly responsible for the brutal act.
The pictures of four men allegedly involved in the attack were identified from over 20 photographs. Police sources said the inquiry has been extended to neighbouring states.
