Palakkad: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishanan said that Chief Minister V S Achuthanandhan had consulted him before suspending Kannur range IG Tomin J Thachankary. Kodiyeri reiterated that Thachankary had violated service rules on going on a 11-day foreign trip without informing the government.
He also said that a probe will be conducted on reports of setting up a private resort in the midst of the adivasi settlement in Silent Valley. Forest minister Binoy Viswam said action will be taken after studying the report.
