Petition against Kunhalikutty dismissed

Thrissur: A vigilance court has dismissed a petition seeking probe against Kerala Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty for alleged amassment of wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Judge V Jayaram, while dismissing the petition filed by Abdul Aziz, observed that there was no prima facie case against Kunhalikutty.

The petitioner also had not produced any evidence to substantiate the charge, the judge said. Aziz alleged that Kunhalikutty had purchased land in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and Gudaloor (Tamil Nadu) in the name of his wife and some other persons.

Kunhalikutty, in his reaction, said Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and a group of persons were behind filing cases against him. "There is nothing new in the court dismissing petition against me in similar cases," Kunhalikutty added.
