Sabarimala: of the Sabarimala temple in Kerala has crossed Rs 62 crore with the two-month long pilgrimage season half way through, which is higher than the proceeds in the corresponding period last year.
Revenue through various sources stood at Rs 62.69 crore as on December 18, against Rs 54.50 crore in the corresponding period last year, accordingto a temple release.
Proceeds from distribution of 'aravana prasadam' (a delicacy) marked the highest source of revenue at Rs 27 crore.
The temple has been witnessing heavy rush of devotees in the last one week.
The first phase of the mid November-December pilgrimage season would culminate with the 'Mandala Pooja' on Dec 26.
The temple will reopen after a few days' recess for the Makaravilakku season, which would conclude on the eve of the 'Makarasamkranthi' on January 14.
