ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സൈനികശക്തിക്ക് മുന്നില്‍ പാകിസ്ഥാന്‍ പിടിച്ചുനില്‍ക്കില്ലെന്ന് പി.കെ കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സൈനിക ശക്തിക്ക് മുന്നില്‍ ഒരു ദിവസം പോലും പിടിച്ചുനില്‍ക്കാന്‍ ശേഷിയില്ലാത്ത രാജ്യമാണ് പാകിസ്ഥാനെന്ന് മുസ് ലീം ലീഗ് നേതാവ് പി.കെ കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി. പാക് അധീന കശ്മീരില്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സൈന്യം നടത്തിയ ആക്രമണത്തെ അഭിനന്ദിച്ച് ഫെയ്‌സ്ബുക്കില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച കുറിപ്പിലാണ് കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി അഭിപ്രായം വ്യക്തമാക്കിയത്. ഭീകരവാദികള്‍ക്ക് ആയുധവും പണവും പരിശീലനവും നല്‍കി പാകിസ്ഥാന്‍ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് കയറ്റുമതി ചെയ്യുകയാണെന്ന നമ്മുടെ വാദം ഇപ്പോള്‍ ലോകം അംഗീകരിച്ചതായും കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
നമ്മുടെ സേന നടത്തിയ മിന്നലാക്രമണം ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ച കനത്ത പ്രഹരത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പാഠം ഉള്‍ക്കൊണ്ട് ജനാധിപത്യബോധം കൈവരിക്കാനാണ് പാകിസ്ഥാന്‍ പരിശ്രമിക്കേണ്ടതെന്നും കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി പറഞ്ഞു. ഉറിയില്‍ 18 വീരസൈനികര്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട സംഭവത്തോടെ പാകിസ്ഥാന്‍ നടത്തുന്ന ഇന്ത്യാവിരുദ്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ലോകരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്നില്‍ തുറന്നുകാട്ടാന്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്റെ അടുത്ത പടിയാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ അതിര്‍ത്തി കടന്ന് ഭീകര ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ക്ക് നേരെ സൈന്യം ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയത്. സമാധാനം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സഹിഷ്ണുതയെയാണ് പാകിസ്ഥാന്‍ നിരന്തരം വെല്ലുവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നും കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി പറഞ്ഞു.
ഇന്ത്യന്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകളുടെ പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ അവര്‍ ഭീകരവാദ ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ നടത്തണമെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഒരു മുസ്‌ലിമും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനത ഏറെക്കാലമായി ഭീകരവാദത്തിന്റെയും തീവ്രവാദത്തിന്റെയും കെടുതികള്‍ നേരിടുകയാണ്. ഭീകരര്‍ക്ക് ഏതു ദേശത്തും ഒരേ രൂപമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിലായാലും പാക്കിസ്ഥാനിലായാലും ഇറാക്കിലായാലും സിറിയയിലായാലും അവര്‍ നിരപരാധികളായ മനുഷ്യരെയാണ് കൊന്നൊടുക്കുന്നതെന്ന് പി.കെ കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.
ഭീകരര്‍ക്കെതിരായ പോരാട്ടത്തിന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സൈന്യത്തിനൊപ്പം ജീവനും രക്തവും നല്‍കി ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനത കൂടെയുണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാണ് ഫെയ്‌സ്ബുക്ക് പ്രസ്താവന പി.കെ കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകളുടെ നിലപാട് എന്താണെന്ന് ഖാഈദെ മില്ലത്ത് സ്വതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തര വേളയില്‍ തന്നെ വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും ആറര പതിറ്റാണ്ടിനിപ്പുറവും ആ നിലപാടില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ മുസ്‌ലിംകള്‍ അണുകിട പിന്നോട്ട് പോയിട്ടില്ലെന്നും കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നു. സൈന്യത്തിന് അഭിവാദ്യമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം സഹിതമായിരുന്നു കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ പോസ്റ്റ്.

Half the applicants for Rs Two per kg rice bogus: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Only those who produce certificates by village officers and local bodies will be eligible for the Rs Two per kg rice scheme, minister for civil supplies T.M. Jacob said here Thursday.

The majority of applications received for availing rice under the scheme announced by the LDF government was fake, he alleged.

Former civil supplies minister C Divakaran said the statement by T.M. Jacob shows that the government is trying to sabotage the scheme.

The minister however said the Rs 1 per kg of rice for the BPL families will be launched before Onam.

The government also proposes to start another scheme during Onam in which vegetables worth Rs 300 will be given for Rs 150 for all ration card holders.

Gujarat leads GDP growth, Kerala below National Average

Gujarat has reported the highest growth rate among Indian states, helped by its growth initiatives, while southern states have seen growth slumping, consultancy firm McKinsey & Co said in a report.

According to the report, Gujarat has witnessed growth rate of over 11 per cent against the 9 per cent average growth recorded by other Indian states.

Real GDP growth in Gujarat stood at 11.3 per cent as against 11 per cent in Haryana, 9.6 per cent in Bihar, 8.5 per cent in Karnataka, 8.1 per cent in Kerala and 7.4 per cent each in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu during the 2005-10 period, the report said.

South India has seen a slowdown in GDP growth rate, despite its overall strong position, McKinsey & Co Partner Ananth Narayan said.

The report was released at the conference `The Next Wave of Growth - South India', organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Radiation levels affecting Singapore not true

An SMS that has been making the rounds warns that radiation from Japan reaching Singapore has turned out to be a hoax.

The text message claims to be a news flash from BBC news, advising people to remain indoors.


It reads:

"A nuclear power plant in Fukumi, Japan exploded at 4:30 AM today. If it rains tomorrow or later, don't go outside. If you are outside, be sure that you have rain protectors. It's acid rain. Don't let it touch you. You may burn your skin, lose your hair or have cancer. Please pass, stay safe and remind everyone you know.

The hoax originated in the Philippines and has been circulating here.

Nuclear experts in the Philippines were quick to debunk the rumour. In a statement, the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) also said radiation levels in the Philippine atmosphere were normal as of Monday (Mar 14) and showed “no increase” since the nuclear plants in Fukushima reported sustaining damage in their reactors.

Such hoaxes could cause unnecessary panic and fear. Some who saw the message on Facebook sensed it was a hoax and slammed its senders for causing panic. One Facebook user, Felicia Jieling posted on citizen journalism website STOMP: "Idiots with nothing better to do can consider going to Japan to assist them, instead of stupidly sending such crap SMS to create mass panic."

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said that Singapore would not be affected by radioactive rain because Japan's nuclear reactors were located 5,000 kilometres away - a radiation shower would require a complete meltdown of Japan's reactors.

Even in the worst scenario, Singapore would still have official advanced warnings. Dr Benjamin Sovacool, assistant professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, told a local news website that it would take days or weeks for a radioactive cloud to reach Singapore.

Members of the public are advised not to circulate such messages without verifying their accuracy.
