PALAKKAD: Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that he 'has no difference of opinion with Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan as both of us are stating the party's stance on various issues.'
He was replying to questions about the divergent stance the two Polit Bureau members of the party take on various issues including the SNC Lavalin scam, at a press conference in the Palakkad district committee office of the party here on Thursday.
Asked about Mr. Achuthanandan's statement that Saturday's Polit Bureau meeting would discuss 'a letter written by former Polit Bureau member E. Balanandan on the SNC Lavalin contract,' Mr. Vijayan said that since the Polit Bureau had already stated that there was no such letter from Balanandan, in what context the Chief Minister had said so was not clear.
Mr. Vijayan said the 'media syndicate' had now extended its operation against the CPI(M) to the national level. Some of the media managements are supporting the media syndicate, which is trying to tarnish the image of the CPI(M).
He said that the communal agenda being implemented by the Sangh Parivar in States such as Karnataka and Gujarat where the Bharatiya Janata Party was in power should be taken seriously as it would destroy the secular fabrics of the country.
The latest example of the intolerance of the Sangh Parivar towards minorities was the kidnapping of the daughter of the Kasargod MLA, Mr. Vijayan said.
The Nava Kerala March, led by Mr. Vijayan, was given receptions at Chittur, Nemmara, Alathur and Vadakkumcherry in the district. The march entered Thrissur district on Thursday evening.
Mr. Vijayan said the march would have another captain from Saturday as he would be leaving for News Delhi to attend the Polit Bureau meeting.
